One of the new features in 7.6 is the ability to set global typography settings. When I first saw this I wasn’t sure what to make of it as it seemed a little redundant, but I was wrong.
Modifying a heading or body text
One of my pet peeves with earlier versions was the need to select the same font family of a heading in order to vary the font weight. This is no longer the case if you set up weight styles. Just create a global style that matches your requirement — Heading-100 — for the heading font with a font weight of 100. The same applies to the body text when you can now have stylized “small” text or lead-in text.
Extending styles
This feature lets you build a variety of global settings and is a huge time saver. If you have a stylized section header that uses a lighter color, with uppercase font, you can now create and apply a global style and use it everywhere. While this is possible in custom CSS, it is such an easy-to-use interface and helpful for those that may not be familiar with CSS. You still have to write custom style for positioning, rotation, and other “non-standard” settings.
