On a current project, I need to create a documentation repository and started looking around the web for options. My first desire (not a requirement) was for it to be native to WordPress, and if it is native to WordPress, it needs to be block-based, and work with Avada or other themes. I found a really nice non-WordPress solution — Docusaurus — but I continued my search. A few of the “best of …” articles in the WordPress community listed four or five popular options, but all list Heroic KB (affiliate link) first, so I decided to try it.
The Pros
- This is one of the easiest plugins to setup and comes with a few add-ons and a few options, but out of the box it is working.
- It is block-based
- It works with Avada’s layout system without issue
- Usage analytics
- User feedback
The cons
- It is not cheap
- There is no free version
- Customization is minimal – all can be overcome with CSS
I like this plugin so much, I joined their affiliate program.
