As a result of the work I am doing on VA websites, we wanted to be able to emulate what Digital.gov has done with policy-related information. The have a very nice accordion (aka toggle) that includes a label and an icon. While the Avada toggle is not overly friendly (no HTML in the title), pseudo-elements can come to your rescue. My next approach was to pull any CSS that can be shared across a variety of categories with only the addition of a couple of lines of CSS — change category, colors, and icons.

All colors are from the US Web Design System and are added as variables in this site. Font Awesome 6 icons are used.

  • Background colors
  • Heading level
