Update Nov. 17, 2022 – due to an apparent conflict with Jetpack Search I have temporarily disabled this plugin. I am hoping it is an easy fix.

The more I look at micro-interactions, sometimes CSS is just not enough (yet). I have started using motion.page (not an affiliate) more and more on this site and the more I use it, the more I like the possibilities. Avada has some basic animation available and for many things and sites it is sufficient, but it is very lacking when it comes to features like allowing the animation to be based on scrolling position, transitioning background colors, or interactivity. Motion.page, which is a UI-driven implementation of GreenSock, even in its early days is really powerful. If you are a JavaScript guru, using pure GreenSock adds even more capabilities (especially if you are a Club GreenSock member), but the developers at motion.page are adding new capabilities fairly regularly. I will say the learning curve can be a little more than some want to deal with, but if you do I don’t think you will be disappointed.

I plan to have a series of articles showing some basics, but the key with Avada is assigning class names or IDs or both to elements you want to target.
